I've moved Mod Organizer to my external harddisk in a alternate folder. If you decide to move Skyrim to some other folder, Steam can do it for you but you'll need to run Skyrim Launcher after everything is moved to setup the registry entries again. It would also help to move Skyrim out of the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder since you'll run into the same issue with permissions in the Skyrim folder structure. The most important point is to avoid using folders that are limited to Administrator privileges. You can name the folder pretty much anything you want. Move Mod Organizer and all the tools (Loot, Wrye Bash, TES5Edit, etc.) to a folder that you create and that is owned by you. When the files are deleted and created again, they inherit the permissions from the parent folder and by default this is Administrators:Full Access, Users:Read+Execute so you don't have permission to move the file you just created. Putting it in the Program Files folder is most likely the cause of the problem. Maybe you know more about this particular error?Įdited by charge, 29 December 2015 - 03:37 PM. However FNIS reported this error at the end. ERROR(2012): Could not generate: defaultfemale.hkx defaultmale.hkx mtbehavior.hkx 0master.hkx I don't know if it's a serious problem. BTW, thanks for the fast reply:) EDIT: Alright I can confirm that has fixed the problem. I'm going to try that now and see where it brings me. While the files where copying I noticed that in my overwrite mod(which I had not updated yet) the file that was missing was located there waiting for me to be placed in location. I've been moving the Mod Organizer directories around a bit because I noticed many Youtubers had the Mod Organizer folder located in their Skyrim directory, I did not have this. If this is the case, you might consider moving Skyrim to a folder you own to avoid permissions issues. One potential hiccup here is that if you have installed Skyrim into a UAC protected folder (like Program Files or Program Files (x86)) you may run into issues with permissions. After this is done, click the dropdown at the top right to select GenerateFNISForUsers and click Run. Scroll to the bottom, expand Tools, expand GenerateFNISforUsers, right click GenerateFNISForUsers.exe, and select 'Add as Executable'. Are you running GenerateFNISForUsers.exe from within Mod Organizer? The easiest way to do this to open the Data pane on the right side of Mod Organizer. #Generatefnisforusers exe download install
I understand this is most likely an access issue, but is there a solution to this? I only have one drive so I can't install Skyrim outside of C: program files or C: program files x86.Īlso if I run FNIS straight from Windows out of the MO folder (not using the binary path) it will not detect any mods and always tells me 'creature pack not installed' when it clearly is.

If checking 'yes' to this, I still get the Error (5), however it doesn't detect any mods at all. When setting MO to run as an administrator through the binary in MO, it asks me to run it with elevated permissions. I then put mod organizer back into the Skyrim directory and re-downloaded FNIS for a fresh start, and set it all up again only to receive the same error message. I uninstalled everything including Skyrim, re-installed Skyrim and ran it vanilla first to generate the.ini files. The Error (5) line appears and the behavior files never get generated.

When I load FNIS through MO it detects the mods I have installed and activated, but when it gets to 'generating behavior files.' Skyrim Generate Fnis For Users Error My binary from mod organizer to run the FNIS.exe is through C: program files x86 steam steamapps common skyrim modorganizer then the FNIS folder. The error I receive is: 'Error (5) The directory is invalid' I run windows Vista 64 Home Premium Edition and have followed both the S.T.E.P. I have been working on trying to fix this for 4 days now and am running out of ideas so I came here. I have been getting an error with running FNIS from mod organizer.
